Karel V fights against Cancer

Foundation Alpe d’HuZes fights against Cancer: make cancer chronic instead of lethal within 10 years. To support this effort “our own” Martijn van Vlodorp has helped to organise the benefit dinner, which took place on the 17th of April. The total revenue of this night was € 9.760,- and goes to the foundation.

At 9 June this year almost 5000 participants will clime the Alpe d’Huez, with culinary support under the management of Martijn van Vlodorp.

Why are there almost 5000 participants willing to climb the Alpe d’Huez six times? To facilitate and support others to a Good, Happy and Healthy life with cancer. The whole revenue of the Foundation goes to KWF, which is estimated at € 20.000.000,-…

Only six weeks left for D-day… With the knowledge what team Catering is up to, I have to admit I am excited. Do we have enough volunteers? Are there enough ingredients? Does everyone know what to do? Are the catering-trailers going to be on time? How are we going to delegate in an efficient way? At night, when I have trouble sleeping, I make a note, just to be sure! Because on that “mountain” we are all by ourselves, the nearest supermarket will be 60 km out of range.

We hope to collect € 100.000,- with Catering Alpe d’HuZes 2011!
