Smoking ban in hotels, bars and restaurants as of 1 July 2008

A statutory smoking ban shall be enforced as of 1 July 2008 in all hotels, bars, and restaurants in the Netherlands. We have been prompted by this legislation to impose a smoking ban throughout the entire hotel.
The permitted smoking areas are outside. We have not created any “smokers’ rooms” in our buildings.
Grand Hotel Karel V holds its guest liable for the costs of any imposed fines and/or extra cleaning costs caused by failure to uphold the smoking ban.
