Taxi transport

We can book a taxi for you, so your guests can enjoy carefree travel to and from your business or Schiphol. We work with UTC (Utrecht Taxi Centre). If so desired, the charges can be included on the bill of your company, provided you have given prior approval and act as a guarantor for payment.

Transport costs Schiphol/Amsterdam Airport

Single trip Grand Hotel Karel V to Schiphol: € 55 and from Schiphol to Grand Hotel Karel V: € 55. This taxi is suitable for a maximum of four passengers, depending on the luggage volume. You can also book a mini-bus, please ask for more information at the reception desk. These rates apply when you book through Grand Hotel Karel V. Other rates apply when you book directly.

When you arrive at Schiphol please go to the STA desk (Schiphol Transfer Assistance) to inform the taxi driver you have arrived. Your taxi driver will be waiting for you at the STA desk when you arrive at Schiphol. The driver shall have a board with the Grand Hotel Karel V logo.

When you book a taxi through us, please supply the flight details and mobile telephone number of the guest(s) to be collected, so UTC can make sure the whole operation runs smoothly.

Train transport

Since the spring of 2006, there has been a direct train connection from Schiphol to Utrecht Central Station in less than 30 minutes. Grand Hotel Karel V is located within 7 minutes walking distance of the central railway station.

Accessibility from Utrecht Central Station

  • In the station hall, follow the signs for Hoog Catharijne shopping centre
  • Having passed the ABN AMRO cash machines, turn right,
    ‘Godebaldkwartier’ exit
  • At the end, at the bottom of the escalator, turn left
  • Cross the road (two sets of traffic lights) and turn right (across the road again)
  • Continue to walk straight ahead and you will see Grand Hotel Karel V on your left after some 150 metres
