History of the Napoleonic Wing

The objective of the German Knightly Order, founded in 1198, was to protect the faith and to look after the ill and wounded. The 90-metre long hospital building of the former National Military Hospital is located at the front of the Hotel and was built in 1823 by order of Willem I. During a drastic renovation the former wards were transformed into beautiful luxurious hotel rooms and suites.
