History of the Roman Wing
An extension of the Roman Wing was added in order continue to meet the increasing demand and wishes of the guests; a new ‘white’ pavilion which has been designed to perfectly blend in with the existing Farmhouse in terms of appearance. The Roman Wing lends its name from the discovery made by archaeologists from Utrecht on this spot: a Roman burial site (40-70 AD), which is the likely burial site for those who built the Utrecht castellum. These are the first Roman graves discovered in the city centre of Utrecht. The Roman Limes (road) most probably ran across our grounds.
