UNICO VAN WASSENAER ROOM

The Unico van Wassenaer room is a bright, characterful space with a unique fourteenth-century oak arch construction of Scandinavian wood dating from 1347. Once serving as an infirmary for the “hopeless cases” of the former military hospital, today this room offers a special ambience for dinners, meetings and other gatherings.

The hall is named after Unico van Wassenaer, former country commander, composer and musician. He was known for his strict policies and gave structure to the Balije, where, among other things, he banned the use of the venue for parties and concerts. Ironically, his name now forms the backdrop for stylish and inspiring gatherings.
